San Pedro is located up north on the island of Ambergris Caye, which is near the Mexican border.  San Pedro has a population of 13,000 and is Belize’s number one tourist destination. — {mprestriction ids=”1″}

Our maximum recommended draft is 6½ feet anchored inside the reef and 6 feet alongside Belize Yacht Club’s Marina.  There are some good instructions for navigating through the reef in the cruising guide book for Belize.  Still not sure, then the next recommendation would be to call either San Pedro Yacht Club or Amigos del Mar on Channel 16 for directions.

The island has all the officials for clearance and these are Customs, Immigration, Health, Quarantine (BAHA) and the Belize Port Authority.

Both Inbound clearance procedures for San Pedro and outbound clearance procedures for San Pedro will involve going ashore with your yacht documentation, passports, arrival or departure documentation.  From there, finding your way to the various offices, starting first with either Immigration, then customs, and Qarantine (BAHA).  Customs and immigration are located just opposite of the San Pedro airstrip.  The Quarantine Officer (BAHA) works out of the same Customs office and Health official can be found at the clinic.  The officials are all quite helpfull and once you arrive at their offices they will call the health official and the folks at the Belize Port Authority, or we can also call them in advance and arrange meeting time at the customs or immigration office.  Process time needed to clear in/out can be quick and other times long, all dependent on the workload.

Normal working hours for the officials is Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 12:00 and 13:00 to 17:00.
