Even though all locals refer to it as Silk Caye here we will refer to it as the name given on the charts, Queens Caye.
Queens Caye lies on the southern edge of Gladden Spit and Silk Caye Marine Reserve which is within the central region of the Barrier Reef about 36 km off the coast of Placencia Village.
It is a popular destination with tour operators from Placencia. Sometimes the kayakers overnight here in tents and the catamarans from Placencia and San Pedro visit here.
Queens Caye is within the marine reserve and as such requires the services of a guide for activities such as snorkeling or diving. — {mprestriction ids=”1″}
No jet skies are allowed here. A guide is mandatory for activities in this area.
Queens Caye, may be the most beautiful island in all Belize. Breath taking white beaches and crystal clear waters await your guests. The white sand beaches and breezy palm trees of these three tiny islands create an idyllic Caribbean escape. The reef around the islands has an abundance of fish and coral species. Don’t pass up the opportunity for another great day of snorkeling with superb diving not far away.
