Cold fronts come from the north and normally pass through the country starting around November, tapering off by March. —

When a cold front is approaching it is very typical for our prevailing winds to start turning from SE to E then to the NE, N, west until it gives a complete circle counter clockwise until the wind settles back to the prevailing SE to E.

Be very careful with the tide as it is normal for the waters to lower by some additional 4 to 6 inches at low tide during cold fronts.

The seas outside the reef can get very choppy when the cold front is affecting us.

We have also seen several yachts drag their anchor whilst anchored in front of the Radisson Fort George with the passage of a cold front.

Cold fronts hardly affect the southern portion of the country.
