In short the requisites for importation of pets into Belize are:-
- Importation permit into Belize
- Pet animal is to be accompanied by a veterinary certificate issued by a registered veterinarian in the country of origin, attesting to: — a) The pet animal is clinically healthy, free of signs of infectious and contagious disease, free of ticks and has no fresh wound or wound in the process of healing.
b) The pet animal has been vaccinated against rabies and that its vaccination is current.
c) The pet animal has been vaccinated against distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, and parvovirus.
d) The pet animal be treated against endoparasites and ectoparasites within thirty (30) days of exportation.
e) All cats be vaccinated against Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calici Virus and Panleucopaenia.
f) The date of the vaccination and the vaccine trade name must be indicated on the certificate. - Vaccination is waivered for pet animals less than 4 months of age but house quarantined until 30 days after rabies vaccination has been administered by a registered veterinarian.
- All pet animals entering Belize are to be inspected by a BAHA official at point of entry.
- Pet animals from countries affected with diseases and pests of quarantine importance (FMD screwworm etc) will require veterinary inspection at port of entry.

Once the application form has been completed email to ventura@btl.net and we will then present it directly to BAHA (Belize Agriculture Health Authority) for approval.
Charges incurred for pet importation
US$50.00 – for the issuance of a pet importation permit.
US$20.00 – BAHA’s fee for inspection at point of entry.
US$100.00 – Per non compliance of any of their requisites
