Rendezvous Caye is yet another jewel which is privately owned and is one of Belize’s pristine gems.  It is right off the main barrier reef, which also runs parallel with the island.  There is a watchman on the island who charges a cover charge.  Be careful though as there is more than one caye in Belize called Rendezvous Caye.  The one I am referring to here is approximately 16nm SSE of Belize City.

It is a little bitty patch of sand, which we call an island has a few trees on it.  Beautiful beach with excellent snorkeling. Check out dives are frequently done either here or at Goffs Caye.  This is also a good location for scuba diving both inside and outside the wall.  The reef north of Rendezvous also offers fantastic diving.   Well as to the water, it is just simply gorgeous.  The watercolours are magnificent.  On sunny days you can have visibility of 80 feet when diving the coral walls. — {mprestriction ids=”1″}

If headed south this will be a good place for first stop. It also makes a perfect stop on the last day when headed back up to Belize City.  The beauty here is that pretty much every persons activity can be covered, relaxing on the beach, swimming, diving, or playing with the toys.  The use of jet skies is allowed here and a dive guide can easily be arranged out of Belize City.  Fishing would work out a bit expensive, but yes it could be arranged due to added travel.

We can arrange exclusive use of this island at an approximate cost of US$600.00 per day.

Coming from the inside most yachts will NOT be able to get right up to Rendezvous, but instead will need to anchor behind Middle Long Caye or Blue Field Range about three miles away.

From the outside there is a break in the reef making it possible to approach Rendezvous Caye from the Eastern side and actually there is far more water available coming in like this making it a better option for deeper draft yachts.  You will need to be carefull with the passage through the reef on extremely calm days or when the seas are rough.

Rendezvous caye makes an excellent spot for evening strolls and also for picnic lunch or BBQ.

Now unless you have done this passage several times, this is certainly not the place to remain anchored overnight.
